
The
Rev, Honorable Jimmie L. Williams III
is Pastor at St. James AME church in Miami fl and also was re-elected
in November 2013 to a four -year term in Council Seat #4 in Homestead
which includes the Southwest area. He was first elected as a Homestead
council member in that same seat in the year 2009. Councilman Williams
started his journey of success by getting his Associates of Arts
degree in Accounting from Keiser University in 2001, he then started
his Finance & Organizational Management degree from Warner Southern
College in 2002. His determination did not stop him there and his
obtaining of his Masters of Divinity in New Testament, Philosophy
& Theology, Turner Theological Seminary at Interdenominational
Theological Center, in 2005 led him to his calling of pastorship.
He also received a Candidate for the Ph.D Program at Union Institute
& University in Ethical & Creative Leadership, the Summer
2014. After completing his education, he went on an Organization
called the Imani Group, Inc with over 45 partners for the South
West Dade Area and is also a Lifetime member of the NAACP. Because
of his dedication and vision towards education for children he helped
founded the Daniel A. Payne Leadership Academy Center which is an
All Male school in Homestead, FL.
After receiving his Masters in Divinity he began the path “Pastor”
and he became Executive pastor at St Paul A.M.E. Church in Atlanta,
GA from 2002-2004 after which he then moved to Port St. Joe ,Fl
and served as Pastor at the New Bethel A.M.E. church for another
two years from 2004-2006 and then moved down to Homestead,Fl were
he served at the New Bethel A.M.E. church from 2006-11 and from
there it led him to his current position at the New St. James A.M.E.
church in Miami Fl were he’s served there from 2011- present.
Councilman Williams scholastic achievements as stated above led
him on the path of becoming a great councilman to the city of Homestead
and an insightful and true man of God over at St James AME. Jimmie
Williams not only divides his time between the church and the city
of homestead but he serves and leads many boards that are geared
towards making a difference in the communities.
